How It Works

BidDown flips the usual auction: instead of bidding a price up, sellers bid it down until a buyer accepts.

  1. 1

    Post what you're looking for

Pick a category, describe the item, and set the most you're willing to pay. That's your want listing — it costs 1 coin to post and stays open for the duration you choose.

  2. 2

    Sellers bid the price down

Sellers who have what you want place bids under your max price — each new bid has to beat the current lowest. It costs a seller 1 coin to place a bid.

  3. 3

    You pick the winner

Accept any active bid at any time, not just the lowest one — condition, seller reputation, and timing all matter as much as price. Accepting closes the listing and declines every other bid automatically.

  4. 4

    Coordinate the deal

Once a bid is accepted, you can message your match directly in BidDown to coordinate payment and shipping. We recommend using payment methods that offer buyer and seller protection, and secure tracked shipping to protect both sides of the transaction.

About coins

Coins are BidDown's flat action fee — 1 coin to post a want listing, 1 coin to place a bid, no percentage cuts. New accounts start with a few free coins, and you can buy more or get a monthly allotment through a paid membership tier.
