Privacy Policy

Last updated: placeholder

Draft — pending legal review. This is placeholder policy text, not a finalized legal document. It should not be relied on as your actual privacy policy until a lawyer has reviewed it against applicable law (including CCPA/GDPR where relevant) and your real data-handling practices.

Information we collect

Account information from Clerk (name, email, profile image) when you sign up; listings, bids, and messages you create; payment and subscription information processed by Stripe (BidDown does not store your card details); and usage data such as pages viewed and actions taken on the platform.

How we use it

To operate the marketplace — creating your account, posting listings, matching bids, processing coin and membership purchases, sending want-match notifications, and maintaining marketplace security. We do not sell your personal information.

Third-party processors

We rely on Clerk for authentication, Supabase for data storage, and Stripe for payments. Each processes data under its own privacy policy and security practices.

Cookies

BidDown uses cookies required for authentication and session management (via Clerk). We don't currently use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

Your choices

You can update your profile information at any time, and can request account deletion by contacting support. Some information (like transaction records) may be retained as required by law.

Children's privacy

BidDown is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date.
